True Cleansing

Good afternoon girls,
I've been reading through Hebrews and just love this verse 9:14.

"How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God."

Twenty-one years ago on March 5th I stood up at a Carmen concert convinced I needed to change my life and that Jesus was the way. However, it wasn't until sometime in April that my new friend, Mark, (now my sweet hubby of 16 years) challenged me. I was still feeling guilt and shame for a few stupid years of foolish actions. Mark suggested that I kneel by my bed that night and ask Jesus to forgive me. He explained well what the Scriptures say about God's sacrifice for me. I did just as he suggested. Then I crawled into bed and when I awoke the next morning I was a new creature in Christ. My conscience was cleansed. I still remember the foolishness and, yes, I still sin. But Jesus' death was for all my sins, past and future. I have victory over sin and I have a clean conscience. Now I serve the Living God!!

I pray that all who read this have experienced the same cleansing.
